Great success for the Hire the Pro first edition at the Eurobike Cycling Fair in Frankfurt. This year, the Cyclistes Professionnels Associes (CPA) has been working on an initiative to help former and retiring professional riders find job opportunities and build their network.
On 25th June professional riders men and women coming from all over the world participated in the event which gave them the opportunity to get in touch with companies interested in their CVs. Representatives from cycling industry businesses attended a meeting organised by the CPA and had the opportunity to talk informally with riders and establish potential working collaborations.
«We are really happy that we have created a connection between athletes and companies. In the group we have truly talented boys and girls, whom cycling career combined with their studies have made into men and women with experience and potential of the highest value. An athlete or former professional athlete has an extra edge, as demonstrated, among others, by CPA president Adam Hansen and Vittoria Bussi (in the photo, ed), who has no intention of quitting cycling but has cleverly taken advantage of this opportunity open to all members of the world riders association» commented Cpa Women manager Alessandra Cappellotto.
To give an example of the high profile of pro riders, Vittoria Bussi is not only the record-breaking woman in cycling (she currently holds the hour and the 4 km record), but also has a degree in Mathematics from the Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD obtained at Oxford University.
Adam Hansen holds the record of 20 consecutive participations in Grand Tours (from the Vuelta a España 2011 to the Giro d’Italia 2018), is an engineer specialised in results-oriented software, has more than 20 years of experience in the development and implementation of high-quality database solutions, and has developed product and project development skills.
They perfectly represent two examples of excellence among the many that professional cycling offers.
